Vis – one of the farthest islands in the Croatian archipelago, for many reasons is a pure Mediterranean treasure. Hidden rocky bays, crystal clear Adriatic sea, amazing landscapes and greenery, romantic narrow streets of Komiza, delicious seafood that came directly from the fisherman ship. These are the highlights of Vis. Here, time is passing slowly, there is no rush for anything. Streets are filled with lazy cats and tourists in search of their apartment.
Smiled postman is greeting and talking with literally everyone. You can see locals playing cards, singing acapella songs and drinking wine mixed with water, kids playing football with an old ball and driving bicycles from the ’80s; taxi drivers talking jokes while waiting for the next ferry.
Vis is easily reachable from the Split harbor, the ferries go every few hours and the journey takes about 2 hours.
When it comes to weddings, the medieval fortress “Fort George” is for sure one of the best venues for outdoor ceremonies and receptions in Croatia. There is something magical on that fortress garden, enjoying wedding dinner in the shade of pine trees and sipping delicious drinks while watching one of the most magical island sunsets in the Mediterranean. In this blog, you can see one of these types of weddings. A British couple Natalie and Andrew decided to come to Vis with their friends and family and have their wedding celebration on Fort George. After the wedding ceremony in the front yard of the fortress, the bridal party along with all the guests went to the rooftop to enjoy cocktails during sunset. How much fun they had on the dance floor, you can see from the photos. Enjoy the photo story.
