Beach weddings are all about having tons of fun while the sand is tickling your bare feet and that second (ok, third) cocktail just put you in the dance mode. The great thing about these kinds of weddings – there are no over-planned protocols. Don’t get me wrong, weddings do have to be well organized, but here everything is slow down, here you go swimming right after the ceremony, dancing before the first dance, and drinking before the first meal.
With Maarja and Alex, I clicked on the first email, I just knew this wedding will be great. They were preparing for the wedding in an old house in the centre of Medulin surrounded by their closest friends, and it was fun from the very beginning. I love a great atmosphere on bridal preparing, everyone is filling with excitement and good vibes are spreading around. The guests and the groom came to the Levan island by boat; it was a short and refreshing ride. Not long after, when everyone came to the beach ceremony and expecting the bride to show up, Maarja came by an old wooden boat. It was a beautiful ceremony led by their friend, with emotional vows, so my colleague videographer had a chance to capture some teary eyes. They invited their closest family and friends from the UK, Finland, and Romania, so it was a perfectly mixed international wedding with small traditions from each side. After delicious dinner and great speeches, the DJ took over, and Romanian rakias as well (Rakia is a homemade fruit brandy, also called rakija in Croatia).
Here what Maarja said about our cooperation:
When Alex and I were looking around for a photographer Kresimir’s work stood out so we were very happy that he was available to capture our wedding on levan island. We now have our photos and are taken aback by them, they are just amazing. Kresimir’s style definitely complemented the look and feel of our wedding, now we’re looking forward to putting the album together.
Enjoy the photos!
